1st August 2006 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: 25-35 knots Surf / Sea State: 3 foot rough surf Air Temperature: 18ºC Sea Temperature: 17ºC Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Woohooo... That made up for missing the weekend!! Started on my new 4m sail (it's first outing), only just enough wind for it really depsite some 35 knot gusts so soon changed up to my 5m sail. AndyW arrived and joined me on the water and I had a great session blasting around in the waves. getting out the back too all of the (limited) tricks in my trickbox... Big jumps to clear two waves, no jump at all off ramps where necessary, mad off the wind runs to outrun waves that would have been impossible to get over, quick spin out recoveries and some good old-fashioned wave-reading. And of course occassionally that other essential skil - swimming! Coming back in was just as good and I had a few really nice wave rides, sending up bg arcs of spray of my top-turns which were then blown into my face by the strong onshore wind. AndyW was going well too. Lovely! |
